"It is extensive for what would need to be done to do so,".. curious where you heard this. On a BES server its not an issue. Maybe you'd have to get a previous carrier to release it but I doubt it..

The extent of it is
First for cricket to register the PIN with RIM the original carrier wold need to release it from their side, then cricket would need register it on their side. It can be done but cricket is not going to go to the expense or take the time and resources to do it. Not when they are trying to sale their Blackberries. It's a profit factor, not a customer satisfaction factor. Also on a side note: cricket will only guarantee talk and text on a flashed phone.

Okay, so it sounds to me like the BIS servers are in RIM's domain and they are managed by RIM.. if thats the case I get it.. I figured each carrier had their own BIS server(s) and controlled them.. in which case this whole PIN issue would likely not be an issue because I doubt BIS servers would even need to talk to each other at other carriers (similar to a corporate BES server doesnt talk to any other BES or server)...

I have had several fully functional BB's on cricket bc now they offer the Blackberry Plan. You can walk into a cricket store to answer this question. I think it is $80 a month or maybe $70...... Either way its there.....

Cricket is leaning on the dealers fairly hard in my area about having a fully functional BB that is flashed. Cricket has an agreement with blackberry to only support Talk and Text, WAP and MMS are frowned upon and full function is what corporate agreed to not do. As a dealer premier or standard I would try to stay away from doing this if you want to keep your license I have been warned about this from multiple people. If you figure it out I wouldn't broadcast it unless you have no license with cricket.

Just a note I dont see how you have several fully functional, it requires the blackberry proxy free data plan and the only way to sign up on the blackberry plan is to have a cricket blackberry esn........... I would be interested in seeing a video of several fully functional. I have seen 2 myself so its not impossible but they have since stopped working.

is your phone listed as a BB8530 ? BBM works perfect i can download any apps also remember im using the "official blackberry books" and no wifix

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9530/5.0.0.419 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

That I am unsure of. I had my storm flashed for me so I do not know what was used.
