I saw a posting from over a yr ago regarding the Ocherese Breed of dog that really somewhat bothers me. We are currently searching for our 2nd Ocherese as we have had 1 for over 8 years and I can say is the BEST dog of any that we have EVER owned. Apparently some believe you have to have AKC Registration papers to own a GOOD dog. Well, IMO...this can't be further from reality. Granted we entered into the breed after research only, but our Ocherese is SO VERY smart, and has had absolutely NO HEALTH PROBLEMS What-So-Ever, we got him at 4 mos, and he is now over 8 yrs old. I am a firm believer that there is good and bad in every breed, and that a pet is what you make that pet to be. Further, I am actively looking for another Orcherese and I know it will be totally different than my other, after all....they are just like people in the sense we are all different. The moral of my story is......all animals need a caring and loving home, if we are looking for a pet, papers mean very little, don't they? They are at the bottom of my list of qualities when searching for a new pet.
