can u use an ipod touch as a bluetooth headset for the ps3?

i got it all set up, and the ps3 ses that the ipod is connected, and in the game, the little speaker icon shows up, and people thing i have one, but people can't acctually hear me
btw, i have 3rd gen ipod touch with the mic that came with it,
i dont think it can work, even though it ses it is,
but im just checking anytway
