Sure you can. I'd probably avoid wearing anything light colored just in case. I'd also recommend one of the thinner maxi's so you won't have a lot of bulk but you'll still have good protection. Check your pad periodically to make sure that it hasn't moved or bunched up and change it as often as necessary to provide yourself with good protection.
I hope you have a GREAT time. Getting exercise during your period is a great way to reduce cramping and maintain a positive mental attitude.
