Can these satelite TV websites on your PC be legit?

I got some Spam email the other day, saying that if I went to a website and downloaded its drivers, I could have all channels free.. Thats sport, films the lot. I dont want to download potential security risks, so therefore, has anyone else had any dealings with these sites, negative or otherwise?

There's an old saying your should remember when anyone offers you something that seems too good to be true:

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

No, those satellite TV things don't work. If they did, the satellite companies would just shut down, right?

There have been some satellite apps that supposedly work, but the content is only free-to-air (FTA) programming (google it), and not anything you get on Dish or DirecTV. Even with FTA, you're better off just buying the equipment yourself and tossing up a dish.
