One of my friends is graduating in 2011 and are concerned that they wont be able to go to college. They are a very bright student, but their parents do not have a social security number. Ive read that with the help of the university's financial aid officier their is a way to get aid as a dependent but w/o parent information. is this true? can somebody explain how this works? i read that you might not be able to receive grants, but you may receive Unsubsidized loans? is this true?
