Google image search results and many images or video on websites are the size of a postage stamp. I can't find any setting that changes this. I tried Opera Mini and both browsers that came installed on the phone, but there's no difference. On my previous ancient Blackberry they filled the entire screen. Zooming does increase the size but still at a low resolution, so that's no help.
