Can the sharia law practice of stoning those who commit adultery, still be upheld in...

...today's world? Stoning is not mentioned in the Quran. It was originally practiced by the Jewish and Christian people, and then, incorporated into Islamic shariah law. Does this mean it was a product of its time, rather than for all time?
How about punishing the adulterer with a big fine, and permission for the partner to get divorced and a regular income of money from the pay of the person who commits adultery.

Yes today and everyday till the end of time.
The Sharia is a just law of Allah against human's unjust law.
And the Sharia consists of Qur'aan, Sunnah and Ijmaa3.
Your suggestion is there in every country, yet the rate of adultery keeps rising, the solution is only the Sharia, and nothing else.

let me make it simple
IF i committed adultery (inshallah i won't) i would want to get stoned if i repent .. and take off the sins in this life rather then get punished in the after life for it
and so does some people i read their stories saying so too

EDIT: umm last time i checked .. we were not the one's who make the rules .. god does .. i would like to walk without a hejab when it's hot and sunny .. but hey .. that's how it goes .. if a payment is the punishment to remove the sin .. then i assure you adultry will only increase
