The whole story is I had 2 warrants, 1 for not paying a speeding ticket and one for failure to appear in court. I was traveling on the highway and a cop randomly runs my plates. He pulled me over ran the drill and came back and told me I had warrants. So at this time I decided to call my dad so he could come get his car since it is registered under him. I called before I was taken into custody and he did beat the wrecker there but the officer refused to give him the key or leave with the car claiming since the wrecker was called it doesnt go anywhere. Im pretty sure this was not true and any policy that the police put in place would simply be void since the owner of the car is present before the wrecker.
I see it as if you park illegally on the street in the city and a tower is called then if you move your car before the tower gets there its game over. Only once the car is hooked up is it theirs.
