Can the police do anything?

My cousin and I were in a small fight, no cops came the night of the fight, the next day she had to go to the hospital and they called the cops. 2 weeks later the cops are calling me to come in for a statement cause they want to try to press charges on us both maybe. Can they even do anything at this point, it just seems petty that they want to try to get us in trouble.

I don't like police, some of them are very selfish, they are not dutiful at all!

Well, Police is for security and if they are not doing their duty in a good manner and if they are unable to implement the law and order, then they are definitely promoting the crimes... Well, be patient and ask for a lawyer to help and guide you in this case....
