Can the HTC Hero download apps like the I-Pod Touch?

Since it is an android phone and has the ability to download thousands of apps like the I-Pod Touch, can it download I-Pod touch apps like the game Tap Tap(sorta like guitar hero but using the touch screen)

Please I would like to know more about it and if it can do that, I am thinking about buying the phone
