can the credit card companies i haven't paid for almost a year now take me to court?

ok i'm 21 and i have about 6 credit cards i haven't paid for almost a year. I know dumb but my husband and i lost our jobs we never thought we'd be in this situation. I know my credit will be horrible but what can they do to me? They aren't huge amounts 400-1000 dollars. i can't afford to pay them all off any time soon but i'm trying. can i get in big trouble?? whats the best thing to do? does filing for bankruptcy cost money? should i do that?

They will sue in court, win a judgment and garnishee your salary.
Bankruptcy is not an option since your debt is minor
All monies owed will increase due to the addition of interest and court costs.
