Can the beat generation be reborn again into todays civilization?

Anything is possible, I guess.

When I first read your question, before clicking on it for more information, my gut reaction was "no." I didn't think it was possible because of the regression of the English language. With LOLs, LyKes, and missing vowels in words, I didn't see eloquence of language making a comeback any time soon.

But, like you said, "In times like these . . ." I guess it's possible. Personally, I think it would have stood a better chance of succeeding a year or two ago, but I could definitely see where today's hardships could spawn another movement like the beat generation. I hope it does. Emotion is what drives good writing, so if the people have a point to make and they have the right people's attention, they could definitely make their message spread and grow into a movement.
