In a DNA test they only check your genes which are your "code" like a computer code. However, they may check for other things in the sample. I don't think it is legal in the United States for them to do this without consent, but most likely you'll just get a mouth swab which plucks off few cells off the cheek. Each cell contains a nucleus (center, like a brain) which also contains your DNA.
