Hi, I am new to this board. 10years ago I took 1mg Ativan for several years at bedtime and never had any withdrawal symptoms that I knew of. I have panic attacks when I fly and 2 months ago I took 1mg Ativan for my flight. I had a script for 30 tablets and I started taking them off and on when I felt anxious mostly at bedtime. Now, if I take one, the next day I wake up anxious, jittery, etc. I have decided not to take anymore but my body is screaming for it. Can you really have withdrawal effects after such a short time????? It seems hard to believe that little bit could do this!

Highly unlikely that you could develop any degree of dependence, or suffer any withdrawl effects after using just 30 tablets.

I totally think that if you didn't have withdrawal from taking the Ativan for several years...that what you are experiencing now...is psychological anxiety..so you "think" that you are having withdrawal..which is causing you anxiety and panic attacks...Decide if you are going to take them..when you are anxious...or not take them at all. Either way...you have made a decision. If you decide that you are going to take them for anxiety...than you don't have to worry about withdrawal. If you decide your not going to take them at all....withdrawal (if that is what you are experiencing) will last for about 5-7 days and then you will be thru with worrying about this.
