Is it possible that my grade II spondylolisthesis is sliding back and forth as I move, causing intermittent nerve impingement?

This is what someone has suggested to me, and I've never heard of this. I surely thought that my spine was more stable than that!

Thanks!
Cheryl

Part of the answer may lay in the source of your spondy. I have a bilateral pars defect of L5 which has resulted in an L5-S1 Grade 2 Isthmic Spondylolithesis. One of the issues with this condition is the chronic instability in the intervertebral joint space which allows L5 to move around on S1. This instability can cause some days to be worse than others. But after 30 odd years there is more than just the instability that affects the situation.

Thanks, John!

How did you find out about your bilateral pars defect? Did that show in the MRI?
