Can someone with a T-Mobile contract in the UK answer this please?

I am wondering if the amount quoted per month for a contract is really what you pay. I'm on pay as you go now but would like a phone on a £20 per month contract. I had one before on a £30 per month deal with Orange and never had a bill for less than £42 and they could never explain why and i know i wasn't even using the phone at all sometimes.

So, do T-Mobile actually charge you what they say or more?
 
Stay away from tmobile! I'm from the u.s and they quote $119.99 a month and I come out paying $142.33 a month! They 'quote' saying the extra charges are for goverment taxes,telephone access,911 etc...
