FINDINGS: The alignment of the cervical spine is normal. There are
mild degenerative spondylotic changes of the vertebral bodies. The
cervical vertebral bodies show normal signal intensity, with no sign
of fracture or destructive lesion. The cranio-cervical junction
anatomy is normal. The spinal cord shows normal shape and signal
intensity.

C2-3: Normal findings.

C3-4: Normal findings.

C4-5: Normal findings.

C5-6: Mild broad-based posterior disc protrusion, without spinal
stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

C6-7: Normal findings.

C7-T1: Normal findings.

What is going on with my C5-6 area? Doctor says it's not impinging on anything and all looks good it's just minor and she's not worried.

How can I stop my C5-6 area from getting worse? What do you recommend and how can I bring this area back to normal. Thanks!

>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hi tatsu. Basically, you have a disc protrusion at the C5-6 level; however, it is not causing any problems. No nerves being pinched, no evidence of any problems. As to getting it back to normal, I doubt that is possible, tho others may have some suggestions on that. I think the only thing you can do is just be careful of activities in which your neck could be jerked around.

I understand your concern, but if your doctor isn't worried about it, then you shouldn't be either. If it would make you feel better, why not get a second opinion? It's a point in your doctors favor that she/he didn't press you for surgery as some would do!!! Be thankful that the doc isn't "knife happy", lol.

Take care.

If you practice good body mechanics that will help maintain your spine health. That includes proper bending, lifting, etc. If you think you want help in that area perhaps your doctor can prescribe a few Physical Therapy sessions so you can be taught good body movement techniques.
