I have to write a slam poem for a writing class, but my teacher didn't exactly give many details, and after asking her I'm still a bit confused. Is slam poetry an actual type of poem, like say a sonnet would be classified as (don't worry, I know it's nothing like a sonnet), or is it just the way you present a poem ie. verbally. Does a "slam poem" have to go a certain way, or is it just a poem said out loud? I feel like my limits are boundless, and I have no clue which direction to go...
