I’m writing this letter to ask you to reconsider your decision to reject my financial aid.
Previous semester spring 2010 while in college I can honestly say that I wasn't mentally prepared to be there. I failed to manage my time, get tutors when needed, apply myself, and ultimately understand what I was in college for. Also my mother became ill Mentally. She suffers being bipolar and Schizophrenic this pass year her condition has become worse. I am the only person able to care for her during this time. My grades started to slip and I wasn't able to complete courses which ultimately led to me withdrawing and failing some courses. Now fall 2010 semester I can honestly say that I am prepared and focused for college. I have enrolled and successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at ***********college. This would not have been possible if I didn’t receive some help from family members to assist in the care for my mother. I’m ready to receive the skills and knowledge that college will prepare me with so I can be successful.
I do realize that I neglected my studies and I would like another chance to do better in them. I have compiled a list of steps I need to take in order to be successful in school:
1. I will obtain a tutor for my most difficult classes by becoming familiar with the tutoring center on campus.
2. I will talk to each of my instructors personally to find out how I can do well in their classes.
3. I will manage my time wisely so that I can balance my family and studies together.
4. I will attend all of my classes to take advantage of what they have to offer.
My short term goal is to complete the nursing perquisites and transfer to a four year university . Without financial aid, I lack the financial ability to continue my education. I’m a hard working student and I will prove so in the upcoming spring 2011 term. My education is important to me because it is the foundation to my success.
any suggestions? do i need to add or change anything?
