Loosing someone is always hard, especially when it is someone very close to you.
You never understand exactly what you lots, until it is gone good.
My Grandmother Emma passed away a year ago. She was a really great woman who stood up for her self and her beliefs. My sister and I loved my grandmother dearly, she taught us to stand up for our beliefs and to be the best we could possibly be. For as long as I can remember she always lived next door to us. We took care of her, doing things she would not be able to do her self due to her old age. She took care of us as well, teaching us lessons we would not have learned, financially and many other ways. As most people do, we got caught up in life, and didn’t always spend as much time as we should have with her. We took her for granted, thinking she would just always be there for us when we made the effort to spend quality time with her.
For being in her 90’s my grandmother was healthy. But before she passed away she got very ill, It came on all of a sudden and she needed my family and I to help her with everything. My grandmother Emma needed help with things I take for granted everyday, getting food, going to the bathroom, she even needed help to get into bed. In one week she lost the ability to do all of these things. My family and I were over at her house all hours of the day until she passed away.
Although My grandmother was very old her death took us all by surprise. Her death made me realize that I took everything for granted. It made me realize a lot of things. You need to take one day at a time. People are not in your life for ever, and just because you are able to do something a week ago doesn’t mean your will be able to do it the next.
