Can someone please help me with Astronomy?

(This is just a study guide, so it won't be turned in for points.)
Here are the questions I'm having trouble with:
14. Why is it so difficult to draw the new moon phase?
34. Discuss the prominent features of the planets.
36. Why does Earth have polar ice caps?
40. How does the sun give off heat and light?
44. Why are the rock planets closer to the sun and the gas planets larger and further away from the sun?
 
14 In the new moon the night side (which is dark) faces Earth. You can't see it! Lots of luck trying to draw that.
34. Mercury--Caloris Basin
Venus--sulfur clouds
Mars--red deserts
Jupiter--red spot
Saturn--rings
Uranus--weird 98 degree tilt
Neptune--dark blue spot
Pluto--not a planet, yuck yuck
36 It's cold there
40 fusion of hydrogen into helium
44 there are a number of theories on this. Proibably the early Sun provided enough heat to drive off most of the gases from the inner planets
