can someone help me with this problem of mine of my memory card for nokia 6680?

I had formatted my mmc using a card reader on the computer because of all the viruses that can't be repaired,so I decided to just format it..after that I safety remove it and I put it on my CellPhone,but it just said that "memory card corrupted"..I used my sisters phone the same as my phone to format it and it's formatted..I fear that if I download again songs,themes,games etc. my MMC will be corrupted again..I might have as well buy another MMC,my father will scold me for that... so,is it okay if I download again on my MMC?..how can I prevent it though?..help~
