I just got this truck. I know the guy who owned this truck two years ago who sold it to the guy I bought it from. He said it never was like this before.
The transmission fluid is at the right level, but is smells a little burnt, so the first thing I am going to do is change the fluid & filter. It is an automatic transmission.
I put the truck in gear and give it some gas and the truck doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't matter what gear I put it in. I have to put it in "drive" and give it quite a bit of gas for a little while before the gear finally catches. After the gear catches and I go down the road, I can use any gear (reverse or drive) and it works fine unless I let the truck sit for half of the day and then I have to start the process all over again. If the fluid and filter change doesn't help, does anyone have any other suggestions?
