As the years went on, Delia gradually thought about her father more and more. Her life had become much more hectic than the days when she had free time and was able to sit down and simply think, about anything and everything, for what seemed like an unlimited amount of time. Delia realized that she was a person who could never stop thinking, no matter how hard she might have tried. The portal to her mind was a cornucopia of boundless thoughts and ideas that never ceased to amplify. This was a bittersweet benediction; as it often kept Delia awake with troubling thoughts that haunted her all night, sending chills up her spine that caused her to toss and turn between tangled sheets. Still, as Delia continued to grow up and learn about life's highs and lows she began to notice that the role of a father in one's life was a reoccurring them in her mind. Delia often considered how different she possibly would have been if her father had been involved in her entire life and had been their to influence her opinions and decisions. Maybe, she thought, she would have higher standards for herself. Maybe, she would have stronger morals. Maybe, she could have learned sooner that hard work pays off. Maybe, she wouldn't have had to learn the hard way to prohibit people walking all over her. Perhaps she would have learned earlier to stand her ground, and never give up in what she believed in. Eventually, Delia reasoned that the challenges she always overcame had only made her a stronger person in the long run.
