Elfen Leid is good, but it's got nudity in it and waaay more gore than a 10 year old would be used to (I think...then again I don't know much about kids these days haha) so if you don't want her seeing that steer clear. Here are a few horror/supernatural/fantasy ones that have a comedy element in them that you guys might like. ^.^
Kuroshitsuji
(I absolutely *love* this anime! They're about to make a second season of it too. ^.^ Yay!) It's about a young boy named Ciel Phantomhive who disappears one night after his parents are brutally murdered and his mansion is set ablaze. When he returns he is followed by a mysterious butler who can literally do anything and a demonic seal imprinted on his right eye symbolizing the contract between them.

This is an interesting dark twist on Alice in Wonderland. It's about a boy named Oz Bezarius who is sentenced to be sent to the Abyss (another dimension which is like a broken down toy box where the toys try to eat you) on his 15th birthday for the crime of existing. In the Abyss he meets a 'chain' in the form of a young girl named Alice and they escape to the real world by making a contract with each other. When they return to Oz's world, however, 10 years have passed and they must now work for a mysterious company called Pandora to regain Alice's lost memories and find out why Oz was condemned in the first place.

Soul Eater
I just started this one and where the plot is pretty much a generic one the characters are really fun to watch. It kind of plays on the lines between downright silly and badass. It's about a group of kids (technicians) who are paired up with weapons (who take human form) at a school to learn how to make their weapons better. If they can capture 99 corrupted souls and the soul of one witch then their weapon can become it's ultimate form.

Vampire Knight
This one doesn't have a whole lot of comedy in it, but I still think you might like it. It's a supernatural romance/drama but it stays pretty PG-13 throughout. It's about a girl named Yuki Cross that has to protect the Day Class (Humans) from the Night Class (Vampires) with her adopted brother Zero.

(Again this one has less humor than the other ones, but it's still really good) About a kid named Miharu that finds out he has inherited an ancient magic that makes him the king of a race of ninja's called the Nabari...the only problem is, he's apathetic to everything.
