Can someone explain Verizon Wireless Prepaid Phones?

Okay, I'm thinking about getting a prepaid verizon phone, and i want to know a few things...

1. Do you pay monthly? How?
2. Can you get unlimited texting?
3. Do you get unlimited calling to verizon people?
4. Are there unlimited calling hours?
5. Explain the paying method, like monthly? Do they charge me by minutes or whenever I use it?
