Can someone clear up all the RARE/NINTENDO/MICROSOFT mish mash for me?

I need to know what's fact from fiction because I'm ITCHING for a new Battletoads game. But wasn't that released under Tradewest? Is it true that the James Bond license is still under Microsoft? Can Rare still make games for the Nintendo Wii? Is it true Rare made games for the Nintendo DS? What about Banjo and Kazoowie? IBGOLDENEYE64 RELEASED FOR THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE!

To be honest, I would rather see microsoft release a version of goldeneye that has multiplayer than see nintendo release the same game for 10 bux which is rediculous when u can get it emulated.

you know...you seem to like video games more than anyone on the forum...so im not sure as to why youre asking these questions that even I know the answer to...

james bond license is owned by activision
rare is owned by microsoft
rare will not be making any games for the nintendo wii.
no clue about the DS
banjo kazooie will be XBOX exclusive
goldeneye64 will never be re-released for the VC

Rare took a big blow recently. The two founders (Chris and Tim Stamper) have quit, and are going elsewhere. While Rare isn't shutting down (a couple vets will be taking their places), it is a pretty big deal. It won't be the same.

As far as old franchises. The James Bond license is now owned by Activision. So the rights to Goldeneye would come from them, not MS or Rare. (There still is a possibility) As far Rare-owned titles....they will not be coming to the Virtual Console. MS/Rare had already confirmed this months ago. The Donkey Kong games that were produced by Rare are still good though....since the rights are owned by Nintendo.

As far as new games....only on the 360.

A lot of people left Rare as/before Microsoft acquired them and Rare wasn't the same since then already. A couple of them formed Free Radical who made those Timesplitter games.

Something i thought would be cool Eather way it will be good that its released, but I believe if its released with a multiplayer thats online, then it will be amazing.

We all talk like we know Tim and Chris.

Usually when company heads leave, its not a good thing. Especially in this business.

Secondly, the handheld market is treated a little differently than the console market. While you won't see Microsoft or Sony specifically making games for the DS or PSP, some traditional hardliners can make games for the handhelds, as we see with Rare.

How funny would it be if Microsoft, Rare and Activision made a deal to release Goldeneye 64 on XBOX Live Arcade. I was talking to a few friends about this tonight, and it's honestly more realistic than it coming to the VC. I'd have to bowrofl if this ever happened.
