I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata, 2.4 liter engine.
It started coding random cylinder misfires. The coil packs, wires, plugs, head gasket, and injectors all tested fine. The timing belt broke about a year ago causing some bent valves. There was no other damage. Head was machined and all related parts were supposed to have been replaced.
A compression test showed #1. 210, #2. 135, #3. 210, #4. 107..... Did a leak down which showed #1. 10%, #2. 75%, #3. 10% #4. 80% on intake causing black smoke on exhaust.
I moved from Arkansas to California since the work was done about 2 years ago. The shop owner says he can't do anything unless I could bring him the car! This is my only car and I am disabled. My only income is Social Security Disability.
Can somebody recommend a good Mechanic near me?
