can somebody give me some running info on a suzuki 25 hp outboard motor?

its been a long time since i ran an outboard about, 30 years, and it seemed at the time we always carried along extra "sheer pins?"...in case we hit something with the prop?..this is a 2009 model, 4 stroke and i am wondering if this is still done, or if extra props are carried along?...thanks
