Can some one help me figure out what the net ionic equation is for the mercury?

I have to figure out what the net ionic equation is for a precipitation we did in lab but I dont know how to get it. I added 4 drops of 15 M aqueous NH3 to a precipitate which was Hg2Cl2, AgCl. We centrifuge it and decant it into another test tube. We are left with a gray-to-black residue in the original test tube, which is a mixture of Hg + HgNH2Cl.

So this is what i have so far,
Hg2Cl2 (s) + 2NH3 (aq) -> Hg (l) + Hg(NH2)Cl (s) + NH4Cl (aq)

is this incorrect?
And if Hg2Cl2 is a solid, why is it that it turns into Hg(NH2)Cl?

The equation has to prove the presence of mercury.
Sorry if im not making any sense.
