Can society be a huge contributor to the development and worsening of mental health

problems? I really doubt that neurotransmitters, genetics, and diet, etc are the sole cause of mental problems all around society today. It's not because of low serotonin or dopamine levels that girls decide to starve themselves or puke, or people hold grudges against others, and decide to go on criminal rampages. I also doubt it's because of chemical imbalances that people decide to go crazy and shoot a bunch of cops (as recently stated in the news).

The people who get depression and commit suicide, perhaps chemical factors are to blame, but I really doubt that a perfect person in a perfect world would suddenly jump off a building, get a dangerous weapon and aim it at themselves, or just go through all sorts of methods to off themselves.

I think...perhaps doctors and people in general are missing something. It's also not as easy to fix as throwing pill bottles at people.

Perhaps they're missing something blatantly obvious, glaringly present, and all too easy to see: LIFE itself.

Though of course...for all their education, learning, and expertise, they fail to grasp that yes, life itself and society may be a great cause of much of mental problems people have today and if they indeed come from chemical imbalances,...the world will just worsen it.

SO that's my question with support, but I also just have to add,..that yes I totally believe that the world/society is a very big contributor to the worsening of mental health problems, and find it completely and utterly laughable that doctors cannot seem to understand that. They must live in some sort of utopia, or think that daily life protocol (brushing teeth, going to work ,etc) is some sort of a normal or perfect existence and that people are just that plain and ordinary and if they're malfunctioning,...just...throw them some pills.

Utterly laughable.

However, the chemical aspect has its place, especially among more severe mental health problems and heck, its a direct cause of anxieties, phobias, etc.

But I really do believe that living in an imperfect world is a much bigger contributor than people give it credit for.

They should change their slogans and advertising to "Got issues? Depressed? Anxious? etc? Life may be to blame."

Instead of..."Depressed? Anxious? You are most likely suffering from a chemical disorder of the brain."

I mean...come on now.

The way the mental health field tackles mental health..is just ridiculous.
It's like oh yeah, "take this pill for a while, it will fix your malfunctionning brain, and then you'll be happy and perfect!"

Yeah..LOL, since this is a perfect world, and you're supposed to be perfect, and if you're not..you have a malfunctioning brain?

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLOL.

OOOOOOOooooooookay then. whoever was d8mb enough to come up with this sh9t?

Without arguing actual real and extreme mentally sick people since they're out there, nowadays almost everyone qualifies as being mentally ill.

It's disturbing. Too shy? mentally ill. Too aggressive? mentally ill. Angry? Mentally ill.

Back in the day people used to get angry and beat people up. Now you go to jail, get classified as mentally insane...all sorts of things.

Is it just me or are we living in scr0wed up times, and being given rules by scr9wed up doctors and following a scr9wed up system?
