Can Siamese fighting fish live in large tank?

I have a siamese fighting fish that currently lives in a very small tank. i have an empty tank which is approximately 20 L and i was wondering if i can put him in there for some more room. will it effect him?
 
bigger is always better for fish...

but honestly 20 L is not that bigggg. in fact it is wht betta's require the least...


but before u add him there make sure tht the tank is cycled... and heated (29-30 C)

He will be much happier, the more room the better.
Mine is in a 40 gallon community tank and is fine.
Originally had him on his own but the tank sprung a leak and I had to move him asap and he's been there ever since. x
