I've always been a fan of Rick Ankiel. He is one of the best stories in the game. I like his move to the Nationals. He is back with hitting coach Rick Eckstein (The same Rick Eckstein that coach Ankiel to hit 32 HR's and 89 RBI's in AAA Memphis before he got called up in 2007).
He will play great defense as always. He will play more LF with Nygger Morgan in center, but hopefully he can run Nygger out of town. And he's got the best arm in the game.
What are you predictions?
Best case .267, 22 HR's, 68 RBI's
Most likely .252, 17 HR's, 59 RBI's
Worst case .230, 6 HR's, 30 RBI's and more injuries
I am hoping he does good, what do you think?
Actually he came very close to 30 HR's in 2008 when he hit .264, 25 HR's, 71 RBI's. He was injured from July 24 til the end with a groin strain. He could've hit .270, 31, 85 if he stayed healthy.
His 162 game average is still .248, 22, 71 which tells you he's capable if he could stay healthy.
