Can PRL 1039 be the cause to why my sph-a840 wont activate on cricket

i have changed the min and phone nuraber and called cricket to have them activate my samsung(sprint ) phone.
i can access the min and nuraber by pressing ##000000# / i noticed that the prl is 1039 and the updated 1 should be 1041/ would this cause me to get a message that "cricket is unable to activate your phone at this time " after i push *228#/ some reason *228 deosnt work which is what i use to updaTE THE PRL ON MY 6700 phone/only *228# does/ if it is can someone give me a run down on how to do this/ i have all the software needed so just give some brief instructions with the software that will do the trick/ no need to give me a link or anything like that to the software/ just instructions thank u
 
I have the 1040 prl and a data cable and a couple of progs like bitpim and some PSTlite / unicdma doesnt recognize my phone/ i not sure how to go about using the to change PRL since it wont change automatically when i use *228#
any suggestions are aprreciated thank u all :buddies:
 
update !
i can make calls just cant update prl through *228 anything.
i decided to try and make a call with the phone even though cricket said they cant program it/ and it worked. so i guess im good to go
 
if you connect to the cricket ivr when you dial *228/are able to make calls you do not need to update your prl unless you want your phone to work in more areas.
