Anyone have experience taking a PPI for a while and then have it stop working? Any explanations?

I've had PPI's stop working. Typically it was after I had been on them for years. I then tried another until something worked.

Additionally, I found that the functioning of my LES got worse over the years. No matter how good a PPI works, the reflux will get worse if the LES is allowing more and more to come up.

I've had Nexium, Somac, Zantaz, Zoton and a couple of others. Haven't found anything that makes me feel any better. I have this pain day in day out. Im trying digestive enzymes at the moment. Started them today so see how they go.

The past couple of nights I have been pacing the floor during the wee hours because of the pain. I have never been able to work out what actually causes my bad bouts and what doesnt. I have a hiatus hernia and also a stricture in the esophagus. Soft food is better for me ....but geez I'd give anything for a big scotch fillet steak with some prawns and garlic on top LOL

I havent posted for awhile we seem to all have something in my family....Even the dog is diabetic and depenRAB on insulin injections

Hope you are all well and take care
