Can palm trees be grown in Japan?

I know that they can grow easily in Okinawa, but are they common on the island of Kyushu? How about on Honshu in Osaka, Kyoto, or Tokyo?

Also, climate in Japan in the lowlands is similar to that of the east coast of the USA. Where on the east coast would Tokyo's climate correspond to? (i.e. Washington DC, Atlanta, etc). What about Kyushu?
