Can our minds accept the Word of God?

I recently heard that our minds reject the Word of God. The Bible was written by people inspired by the Holy Spirit, therefore we need to accept the Word in our spirit before our minds accept it. Is this why non christians seem to battle to understand the Bible? Is this why even Christians reject the Word of God? I would like to hear your thoughts on this. Personally I agree as you need to have a connection to the author of the Bible in order to fully understand it. But this is not about my opinion. I would really like to hear your opinion.

Thanks

A lot of conservative fundamentalist like to dwell on the idea that every human mind is so evil that it naturally rebels against God's word. I don't think that's true at all. If so, then when Genesis says that we are "made in the image and likeness of God," then it must be lying.

If we are made in God's image, our minds instinctively seek out His truth, and our hearts instinctively seek out His love.

But there is a lot of deception about what is and isn't God's truth. A lot of people see religion as a way to make money and gain fame (or infamy), so they push their own opinions about God as God's word. People do well to rebel against those.

The way to tell what is and isn't God's word is to use what Jesus called the greatest commandment: Love God and each other. If what they are saying leads to division and secular political goals (like so-called "culture wars" and prosperity gospels), then rebel against them with all your might.
