Can only get "uma" in Orange County, CA

Fellow Stackers,

I've had my 8320 since Saturday and have had good success with UMA over the past few days. However, around 5AM this morning, my UMA change to uma and nothing I can do gets it back to uppercase from lowercase.

I've done all the reset tricks, checked the service books, etc. BES email and phone calls are working but other apps (like Gmail) fail saying they require a working data connection.

A friend of mine in Irvine is having the same issue. I'm at work in Costa Mesa.

Any other folks having issues?

Thanks,
-paul

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i don't think you have to delete all your service books, just do a resend. It may be doing that because of settings though too, don't really know yet, having a little trouble in detroit michigan myself

It's similar to having "edge" instead of "EDGE" some stuff will work, but other stuff won't. Calls and BES email is working, but I can't use the Gmail application, or Google Maps.

It should show UMA.

Been showing "uma" all day today also. Has "UMA" all day yesterday. My wifi is tested on other phones and running fine. Re-sent service book. Maybe its part of the outage? EDGE is working great tho. I have everything running (gmail app, aim, BBM, browser, etc) except my gmail accts are lagging.

I'm in Southern California too BTW. In Inland Empire/Fontana

Same here in Marina Del Rey. uma as opposed to UMA all day yesterday.

Tried and tried all things posted so far, but no luck. I'm hoping it's a "them" and not "me" issue.

bb sopport from t mobile can fix that!! just call and they will resend the bb service again to your phone and it should start working! its a problem the curve is having with the UMA! its a known issue!

I don't believe it's a service book issue as I've resent mine multiple times today (even deleted the books first so I know things are going through).

I'm glad it's not just me. I'll post back to the thread if I can figure out how to solve it.

Thanks,
-paul
