Can my parents claim me on their taxes. I am 25, live with my parents and went to...

...school part time.? In publication 501 from the IRS I gather that I cannot be a qualifying child because of this:

The child must be (a) under age 19 at the end of the year
and younger than you (or your spouse, if filing jointly), (b)
under age 24 at the end of the year, a full-time student,
and younger than you (or your spouse, if filing jointly), or
(c) any age if permanently and totally disabled.

And I am also not a qualifying relative because I work full time and break this rule:

The person’s gross income for the year must be less than
$3,650.3

My parents took their taxes and mine to the same tax people. These tax people claimed me as a dependent on their taxes. I'm pretty sure it is illegal for them to claim me but I don't think they would make this kind of mistake. Is there any other reason they would be able to claim me?

I wouldn't really care except I have to lose my tax return and pay $500. I told them not to claim me and I would just use my tax return to pay them what money they would have saved. They didn't seem at all interested in doing this to save me $500 so it made me mad. It seems dumb for me to pay almost $1000 so they can save less than $500.

I told them they cant claim me but they wont listen. Do I need to file an amended return and eventually let the IRS settle this for us?
