can my landlord evict me because she refuses to do the proper repairs to my apartment?

i have been trying to get my land lord to fix my apartment. there was a flood in the CARPETED bathroom and they refuse to take the carpet out. they are starting to force me out because i am asking them to fix it is that even legal? please help. i live in texas
