...information!? In June my fiance and i went car shopping, he needed a car and also wanted to build credit while paying the car off (that's the main reason we didn't want to buy a cheap car and pay in full we NEEDED to build some credit. The salesman told us that if we made weekly payments it would build our credit even faster so we went with that.. We went to a dealership that said that you don't need credit just proof you have a good paying job. (because he had ZERO credit) Well since it was his first GOOD car he got a dodge durango...after having it for a few months he thought it was wasting too much gas, and he wanted something smaller...we went to another dealership to find out how much it was worth and how much we could trade it in for. The guy told us he was going to check my fiance's credit score...and come to find out that this place that we bought the car from hasn't been reporting any of our payments so he still had NO credit score. We were both very upset and found out that the dealership over charged for the car we bought it for 8,000 it is only worth about 4,000!! So we thought about it for a night and decided that we didn't even want it anymore and that they were a dishonest company. So today my fiance went back to the dealership and told them he wanted to return the car, they said that's fine...and that was that...
Now, what i am wondering is...is it legal to just return a car, should he have some paperwork stating that he no longer owns it and doesn't have to make payments...what do we need to do...again The dealership told us it was fine to return it (it has happened before to them i guess) but im wondering do we need legal documentation?
Please help with legit answers don't accuse i know we made a mistake in going there we are still young and learning from our mistake just help me out a little!! Thank you for any helpful answers!!
