Last year I was getting these sharp, stabbing pains around my right ovary. I was told it was ok over and over again. It took my doctor 6 months to refer me for a scan. I was told this showed I had a polycystic ovary on the right, and that I should look it up on the internet to find out more about it and then sent me away.
A couple of months ago I moved to a different area and therefore got a new doctor. The pains are still there, they come and go when it feels like it and is just so painful when it happens that I have to stay still as any movement makes it worse.
My new doctor was a little quicker to get me another scan, but the result of this scan showed that everything was normal. Not even any signs of polycystic ovaries.
Whats that all about? Can it just go away?
I also have IBS but i have had this for several years and know this pain is 'lower down' and not related, and the pain is also moving into my lower back. What does my doctor do then? But refers me to physio. Im not really sure what good that will do.
Also, last week I made an appointment to clear this up. Obviously it is my body and I want to know what is up. The answer I got was that she 'cannot know everything and sometimes questions dont get answered'.
Is this really right? I mean, I dont want massive tests or anything, I want to know how my body can do this, and what the pain is.
Im 26.
I had an abnormal smear at 21 and had a colposcopy. Also been told I had/have HPV.
My smears are ok now, but obviously Im a bit concerned with that area as I have been told it will be difficult to conceive in the future.
Another scan a couple of years ago, the nurse asked if I had had a miscarriage. Which I had not, (not even been pregnant as far as I know) but she said it looked like it.
And yeah, the scan was an 'inside' one.
So now it just seems my ovaries and that whole area have a life of their own and I have no clue whats going on!!
