Can my credit be messed up if T-Mobile sends my bill to collections even

though it wasn't a contract? I sent in a payment of $100 to T-Mobile for my cancellation of my phone service. I still owe $615. The Financial people that work with T-Mobile told me that I only have 5 payments to pay for it and if I don't set up an arrangement that the 90 days after the cancellation of the phone service they will send the rest of the remaining balance to a collections agency. They said that it could mess up my credit. My phone service has already been turned off for a month and a half. They said I can't do anymore than 5 payments and the $615 would have to be splitted up evenly during those 5 payments and those 5 payments are due every 2 weeks. There's no way I can pay $123 every 2 weeks to pay off this bill. I was just wondering how can it mess with my credit if I had the non-contract plan for my phone (even more plus plan). Please help!
