Can a vehicle tire be repaired if it's been stabbed with a pocket knife?
I'm praying that there's someone out there who knows the secret to repairing a car tire that's been stabbed in the sidewall. I am a single mom, who can't afford to purchase another tire for my vehicle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer this question.

* I have the following items to work with ... a tire repair kit and rubber cement glue. If I need something else, please let me know.

Definitely not. Any damage to a tyre's sidewall means it's totally unsafe. (I had a cheap remould tyre blow out on me on the motorway... not a pleasant experience, I can assure you... and yes, it was because the sidewall had been compromised.)

Have you got a spare tyre?
If not, I'd suggest taking heed of some of your countrymen's advice, and see if you can get a second hand tyre.

You really shouldn't put a budget on safety, especially when you have young ones to fend for.
Just to underline my message.....

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR A TYRE WITH A HOLE IN IT'S SIDEWALL!!! IT'S POTENTIALLY LETHAL!!!

No, not possible. I'm sorry to tell you that. I know it sucks but the cheapest route would be to go to a used tire shop. Not to sound racist, but usually the best place to find a good used tire shop is in the "poorer" areas of towns, and I know here in our city there are some wonderful Hispanic shops that sell used tires.

you cant fix a hole in the sidewall sorry. shop around some used tire shops sell single tires dirt cheap

some places will patch it, you can patch it, buts its not the best fix. best thing to do is get a used tire in good shape, just be careful what u get.

In the dark ages you could fix the tire, you use a hot patch to seal the puncture wound then install a inner tube to fix it but it is not a good ideal, it can be done but finding someone to do it will be hard. Most shops will not do it because of issues with warranty and being sued if the fix failed.
