i have a 97 ford escort... i can jump the car. it'll start but it wont run when you take the jumper cables off. it dies as soon as you take the positive off.
i checked the battery. it is reading 12.65 volts. and it isn't dropping when the battery cables on the car are hooked up.
i found out. after you jump the car. and take the terminals off the battery. the positive terminal gets real hot and makes a "sizzling" sound.
Or sometimes whenever the keys off and the negative terminal is hooked up and you try hooking up the positive terminal the "head" relay makes a clicking noise.
What IS the "head" relay. and why is the car not wanting to stay running?.. and why is the positive terminal getting hot?
nevermind.. the "head" relay was just clicking because the lights were on.
But the positive terminal is still getting hot and the car will not stay running.. the dash lights flicker when you turn the key half way and the starter just clicks
