My boyfriend and I are planning on getting engaged and going into the coastguard together. He was in the army for 3.5 years and got out in November 2007. He still has 3 more years as an inactive ready reservist and decided to join the reserved with a 2 year non-deployable contract. He is thinking he wants to make the coastguard into a career (and life) for us. He is having trouble getting a hold of a recruiter and I'm just anxious to see if anyone knows this. Would his reserve contract be terminated or is what he wants to do even possible at all??? Thanks!
