Can modern science accept the value of shamans, witch doctors, and others

after these proven tests? Beliefs_century, and sometimes millennial_were suddenly laughed upon by modern science, which could not accept that love potions, spells, and tribal medicines could be effective in any way. I have enough sense to know that not everything these antiquated cultures did or say was always the true solution to problems, just like I have proved on my own that not all doctors are always right, and that many (being human as they are), basically go by what the eye sees and what the tests and machines tell them, but unfortunately not further. Until, of course a patient demonstrates his or her reasons beyond a doubt for feeling or believing that they are indeed sick.

Why am I saying all this? Because I have just read about the books written by Graham Hancock, David Pinchbeck, and Rick Strassman which describe what dimethyltriptamyne (DMT) can cause; precisely what Shamans apparently describe in their visions.

By the way I got to that article searching for more information regarding the so called "implants" by the so called " alien abductors", which, just like the Shamans appear to walk through walls, leading the abductees through the same. And while this is completely physically impossible, it also reminds me of how important positive and upbeat behavior is for cancer and other disease-stricken patients, which is what the Shamans attempt to also accomplish; curing the body through the soul.

Also, as part of an answer here on Yahoo, I got to read about pheromones, and androstadienone (in the male sweat) and what it causes in females. And about how women with irregular menstrual cycle become regular when exposed to male underarm sweat. This brought back memories of the beliefs my mother and her family had, as well many stories from countless other people.

I will eventually tell those stories, as I ask other Yahoo members about their personal opinion. Now I understand why so many have been so afraid of spells and witchcraft, and how some rever the "good" witch doctor! Also, I can understand that the majority of the people simply go on ignoring much of these "phenomena", mainly the ever-increasing amount of persons who are finding foreign objects implanted in their bodies, and just laugh it off. But, why isn't modern science more involved in these reported happenings?
