Can Metro Police Pull Military Records?

I live next to a foreclosed house & reported a guy breaking & entering. When the cops came, he bolted. The policewoman was very nice, but asked my DOB in addition to my name. Is that normal? Can she pull my military record? It seemed like she didn't ask for DOB until after I told her I was in the Army.

I was honorably discharged and did two deployments to Iraq. I'm just curious.
