Can l work as a Probation Service Officers with a criminal record?

I have just finished my BA Criminology degree and would like to become a (PSO), however,
Just like thousands of others in the world of reality l have a criminal conviction for:
Driving and motoring and Overpayment of Benefits.

Would this barr me?
Is anyone else within the criminal justice system that had to go through such challenges????
